This is the second report on the ASEAN Insurance Commissioners' project on the ASEAN
Unified Forms of Insurance Statistics. Except for the brief informational background contained in the first publication. this second report follows closely the format of the initial publication. Part I is made up of insurance statistics for the year 1982 for each ASEAN member country except Brunei Darussalam which became a member of ASEAN only in 1984. The statistics are summarized in eight (8) different forms. Part Il presents the analysis on each form in a manner. as has been previously expressed by the Committee. which seeks to enhance the use of the publication.
Although this is already the second issue. some imperfections may still exist. The Committee believes. however. that many of the flaws found in the first set of returns (1981) have been ironed out in the second set (1982) and that inaccuracies are now very minimal. The Committee and its Working Group continue to take necessary measures to ensure accurate reporting by each member country. The Technical Committee Meeting held in Manila in June 1985 was able. among others. to thresh out problems raised by the IC Working Group on the 1981 and 1982 returns. As a result. it is expected that the preparation of subsequent years' returns and analyses beginning from 1983 shall be facilitated
