It is not like the relationship between Thai and China that the relationship between Thai and Pattani (Malay Moslem) is dominated completely by ideological and cultural conflict. The Malay Moslem identified that the relationship between Thailand's government and the Malay-Moslem people is like the relationship between the colonizer and the colony. This statement is supported by the history that Pattani was an Islamic Malay Kingdom that autonomous and independent before subjugated by Thailand. According to historical background. Pattani was conquered by the Siam authority since 16th century. It has been united into Siam kingdom since 1902. In early 20th century. Pattani is detached from Malay peninsula. even though in the reality. they admitted that closer to the other Malay who live in the peninsula as kinship and clump than to Thai. As family affinity and the historical background. Pattani or the Malay Moslem actually is the one of Malaysian Malay. who really different not only in ethnic but also in religion from Thai ethnic who are Buddha in majority.
